Our team has been contributing to & pushing forward the open source ecosystem for decades. Whether through direct software creations, contributions, technical support or thought leadership, we believe open source software is at the heart of modern businesses success.
With that in mind, we're proud to announce that we're joining Sentry, Astral, Val Town & more in taking the Open Source Pledge.
As part of this initatiative, we've decided to make several financial open source contributions.
First, we're happy to share that vlt is now a Silver Member of the OpenJS Foundation (a $5,000 annual commitment). Our roots run deep with this foundation. We've contributed countless hours to & continue to maintain foundation projects. We're excited to join as members as well as continue to contribute our work as maintainers. We believe software development is better when done together, in the open & with open governance.
We're also excited to share that we've contributed 4, one-time payments of $500 to key open source projects & maintainers we use in our stack today: typescript-eslint
, pnpm
, Yusuke Wada (creator & maintainer of hono
) & Daishi Kato (maintainer of zustand
).
These contributions are just a small step in a marathon of work we've got planned to help make open source software more sustainable. The financial commitments account for $2,333 per full-time engineer.
We will continue to share our progress & future investments in the hopes other organizations will join us in backing their stacks.
