Hey! It's me, (Internet) Luke Karrys, and I'm thrilled to announce that I'm joining vlt on their mission towards building the future of JavaScript packages. I jumped at the opportunity to collaborate with my former colleagues on new solutions for the JavaScript ecosystem.
There are three things that have always excited me during my career:
- Developer Tooling
- Open Source
- JavaScript
These have been the through line in my 15 plus years of software development, so joining vlt is a natural progression of that trend. I get to continue working on what I am passionate about while lending my experience and expertise to a team with an already deep well of knowledge.
I’m extremely grateful for my time at GitHub working on npm
over the last three years. npm’s impact on the JavaScript ecosystem is unmatched and it was an incredible experience to maintain a tool with that kind of impact. I believe npm will continue being the right tool for many jobs while serving billions of packages and millions of developers.
I also believe that the use cases for JavaScript tooling have exploded, and many companies do not have the luxury of a platform team to write, find, maintain, and update this tooling. Exploring innovations in new platforms for developers is more important than ever. I’m excited to take a greenfield approach to this as part of a team that has spent decades of time in this problem space.
Also they agreed to give me the password to the social media accounts so I can explore my alternate career path of elder millenial social media intern.
